रामोऽभियाय तं रम्यं वृक्षमिक्ष्वाकुनन्दनः । रथादवातरत्तस्मात्सभार्य सहलक्ष्मणः ॥ २-५०-३१

Rama, delight of the Ikshvakus, along with his consort and Lakshmana reached that beautiful tree and alighted from the chariot. ॥ 2-50-31॥

english translation

rAmo'bhiyAya taM ramyaM vRkSamikSvAkunandanaH । rathAdavAtarattasmAtsabhArya sahalakSmaNaH ॥ 2-50-31

सुमन्त्रोऽप्यवतीर्यास्मान्मोचयित्वा हयोत्तमान् । वृक्षमूलगतं राममुपतस्थे कृताञ्जलिः ॥ २-५०-३२

Sumantra also got off the chariot, unyoked the horses and with folded palms stood near Rama who had already reached the foot of the tree. ॥ 2-50-32॥

sumantro'pyavatIryAsmAnmocayitvA hayottamAn । vRkSamUlagataM rAmamupatasthe kRtAJjaliH ॥ 2-50-32

तत्र राजा गुहो नाम रामस्यात्मसमः सखा । निषादजात्यो बलवान् स्थपतिश्चेति विश्रुतः ॥ २-५०-३३

There lived the mighty ( powerful ) king Guha who was born in the race of nishadas (hunters) and became famous as their lord. He was a friend to Rama who was like his own self. ॥ 2-50-33॥

english translation

tatra rAjA guho nAma rAmasyAtmasamaH sakhA । niSAdajAtyo balavAn sthapatizceti vizrutaH ॥ 2-50-33

स शृत्वा पुरुषव्याघ्रं रामं विषयमागतम् । वृद्धैः परिवृतोऽमात्यैः ज्ञातिभिश्चाभ्युपागतः ॥ २-५०-३४

Having come to know that Rama, the best among men, had arrived in his region Guha accompanied by senior ministers and people of his clan came to greet him. ॥ 2-50-34॥

sa zRtvA puruSavyAghraM rAmaM viSayamAgatam । vRddhaiH parivRto'mAtyaiH jJAtibhizcAbhyupAgataH ॥ 2-50-34

ततो निषादाधिपतिं दृष्ट्वा दूरादुपस्थितम् । सह सौमित्रिणा रामस्समागच्छद्गुहेन सः ॥ २-५०-३५

When Rama and Lakshmana saw from a distance that Guha, king of the nishadas, was approaching them, they went forward to receive him. ॥ 2-50-35॥

tato niSAdAdhipatiM dRSTvA dUrAdupasthitam । saha saumitriNA rAmassamAgacchadguhena saH ॥ 2-50-35
