समुद्रमहिषीं गङ्गां सारसक्रौञ्चनादिताम् । आससाद महाबाहुः शृङ्गिबेरपुरं प्रति ॥ २-५०-२६

Mightyarmed Rama reached Sringaverapura on the bank of this consort of the ocean, this Ganga loud with the cries of kraunchas and herons. [2-50-26]

english translation

तामूर्मिकलिलावर्तामन्ववेक्ष्य महारथः । सुमन्त्रमब्रवीत्सूतमिहैवाद्य वसामहे ॥ २-५०-२७

Beholding river Ganga full of waves and whirlpools, the great chariotwarrior (Rama) said to Sumantra 'We shall spend the night here. [2-50-27]

english translation

अविदूरादयं नद्या बहुपुष्पप्रवालवान् । सुमहानिङ्गुदीवृक्षो वसामोऽत्रैव सारथे ॥ २-५०-२८

Oh ! charioteer there is a very large ingudi tree not far from the river, luxuriant with flowers and budding leaves. We shall stay there tonight. [2-50-28]

english translation

द्रक्ष्यामः सरितां श्रेष्ठां सम्मान्यसलिलां शिवाम् । देवदानवगन्धर्वमृगमानुषपक्षिणाम् ॥ २-५०-२९

We shall watch Ganga, the best among rivers, whose holy waters are respected by gods, demons, gandharvas, beasts, serpents, men and birds alike.' [2-50-29]

english translation

लक्ष्मणश्च सुमन्त्रश्च बाढमित्येव राघवम् । उक्त्वा तमिङ्गुदीवृक्षं तदोपययतुर्हयैः ॥ २-५०-३०

Lakshmana and Sumantra agreed with Rama, saying 'Be it so' and turned the horses towards that ingudi tree. [2-50-30]
