अयं स पुरुषव्याघ्रो द्वारि तिष्ठति ते सुतः । ब्राह्मणेभ्यो धनं दत्वा सर्वञ्चैवोपजीविनाम् ॥ २-३४-६
- 'Your son Rama, a tiger among men, having given away his entire wealth in charity to brahmins and to all the dependents is waiting at the entrance. ॥ 2-34-6॥
english translation
ayaM sa puruSavyAghro dvAri tiSThati te sutaH । brAhmaNebhyo dhanaM datvA sarvaJcaivopajIvinAm ॥ 2-34-6
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस त्वा पश्यतु भद्रं ते रामस्सत्यपराक्रमः । सर्वान् सुहृद आपृच्छ्य त्वामिदानीं दिदृक्षते ॥ २-३४-७
Be blessed audience may be granted to Rama who possesses proven prowess, and now waits, after taking leave of his friends, to see you. ॥ 2-34-7॥
english translation
sa tvA pazyatu bhadraM te rAmassatyaparAkramaH । sarvAn suhRda ApRcchya tvAmidAnIM didRkSate ॥ 2-34-7
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगमिष्यति महारण्यं तं पश्य जगतीपते । वृतं राजगुणै स्सर्वैरादित्यमिव रश्मिभिः ॥ २-३४-८
Oh ! Lord of the world behold him embellished with all princely virtues like the Sun encircled with its rays, (now) leaving for the forest.' ॥ 2-34-8॥
english translation
gamiSyati mahAraNyaM taM pazya jagatIpate । vRtaM rAjaguNai ssarvairAdityamiva razmibhiH ॥ 2-34-8
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस सत्यवादी धर्मात्मा गाम्भीर्यात्सागरोपमः । आकाश इव निष्पङ्को नरेन्द्रः प्रत्युवाच तम् ॥ २-३४-९
That truthful and virtuous king (Dasaratha) who was deep like the ocean and free from mud (pure) like the sky replied ॥ 2-34-9॥

sa satyavAdI dharmAtmA gAmbhIryAtsAgaropamaH । AkAza iva niSpaGko narendraH pratyuvAca tam ॥ 2-34-9
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसुमंन्त्रानय मे दारान् ये केचिदिह मामकाः । दारैः परिवृतस्सर्वैर्द्रष्टुमिच्छामि धार्मिकम् ॥ २-३४-१०
- 'Oh ! Sumantra bring all my consorts who are here. In the company of all my wives, I desire to give audience to virtuous Rama.' ॥ 2-34-10॥
