ते तु ताम् रजनीम् उष्य ब्राह्मणा वेद पारगाः । उपतस्थुर् उपस्थानम् सह राज पुरोहिताः ॥ २-१५-१

The brahmins wellversed in the Vedas stayed waiting all night and assembled at the pavilion (for the consecration ceremony) along with royal priests. ॥ 2-15-1॥

te tu tAm rajanIm uSya brAhmaNA veda pAragAH । upatasthur upasthAnam saha rAja purohitAH ॥ 2-15-1

अमात्या बल मुख्याः च मुख्या ये निगमस्य च । राघवस्य अभिषेक अर्थे प्रीयमाणाः तु सम्गताः ॥ २-१५-२

For the consecration of the scion of the Raghu race (Rama), ministers, army chiefs and chiefs of merchants' associations assembled, brimming with joy. ॥ 2-15-2॥

amAtyA bala mukhyAH ca mukhyA ye nigamasya ca । rAghavasya abhiSeka arthe prIyamANAH tu samgatAH ॥ 2-15-2

After the bright Sun appeared in the sky when the Pushya star approached the karkataka lagna, which was the constellation at the time of Rama's birth - ॥ 2-15-3॥

udite vimale sUrye puSye ca abhyAgate ahani । lagne karkaTake prApte janma rAmasya ca sthite ॥ 2-15-3

अभिषेकाय रामस्य द्विज इन्द्रैः उपकल्पितम् । कान्चना जल कुम्भाः च भद्र पीठम् स्वलम्क्ऱ्तम् ॥ २-१५-४

- the best of brahmins had decided to perform the Rama's consecration ceremony. Golden jars filled with water, the well decorated throne . - ॥ 2-15-4॥

abhiSekAya rAmasya dvija indraiH upakalpitam । kAncanA jala kumbhAH ca bhadra pITham svalamkr2tam ॥ 2-15-4

रथश्च सम्यगा स्तीर्णोभास्वता व्याग्रचर्मणा । गङ्गायमुनयोः पुण्यात्सङ्गमादाहृतं जलम् ॥ २-१५-५

- and a chariot spread well with bright tiger skin (were kept ready). Water from the sacred confluence of Ganga and Yamuna - ॥ 2-15-5॥
