दीर्घकालात्समुत्थाय संज्ञां लब्ध्वा च वीर्यवान् । नेत्राभ्यामश्रुपूर्णाभ्यां दीनामुद्वीक्ष्य मातरम् ॥ २-७५-१
On regaining his senses after a long time, the valiant one ( Bharata ) looked at his unfortunate mother whose eyes were filled with tears. [2-75-1]
english translation
सोऽमात्यमध्ये भरतो जननीमभ्यकुत्सयत् । राज्यं न कामये जातु मन्त्रये नापि मातरम् ॥ २-७५-२
Bharata condemned his mother amidst the counsellors : 'Neither did I ever desire the kingdom nor did I ever consult my mother in this regard. [2-75-2]
english translation
अभिषेकं न जानामि योऽभूद्राज्ञा समीक्षितः । विप्रकृष्टेह्यहं देशे शत्रुघ्नसहितोऽवसम् ॥ २-७५-३
I am not even aware of the consecration that was planned by the king for I was away in a distant country with Shatrughna. [2-75-3]
english translation
वनवासं न जानामि रामस्याहं महात्मनः । विवासनं वा सौमित्रेः सीतायाश्च यथाऽभवत् ॥ २-७५-४
I knew nothing of the banishment of great Rama nor did I know how Lakshmana or Sita had gone on exile. [2-75-4]

तथैव क्रोशतस्तस्य भरतस्य महात्मनः । कौसल्या शब्दमाज्ञाय सुमित्रामिदमब्रवीत् ॥ २-७५-५
As magnanimous Bharata was wailing, Kausalya recognised his voice and said to Sumitra [2-75-5]
