वनवासं हि संख्याय वासांस्याभरणानि च । भर्तारमनुगच्छन्त्यै सीतायै श्वशुरो ददौ ॥ २-४०-१५
For Sita who was accompanying with her husband, Father-in-law ( Dasaratha ) gave away garments and jewellery, taking into consideration the period for which she had to stay in the forest. [2-40-15]
