तांस्तु सर्वान्प्रतिव्यूह्य युद्धे राजा प्रवासितः | स च शैलवरे रम्ये बभूवाभिरतो मुनिः || २-११०-१७
Although king Asita engaged all of them in a battle, he was (defeated and) driven into exile. He retired to a delightful, tall mountain and lived a life of contentment of a sage. [2-110-17]
भार्गवश्च्यवनो नाम हिमवन्तमुपाश्रितः | तमृषिं समुपागम्य कालिन्दी त्वभ्यवादयत् || २-११०-१९
A sage called Chyavana, belonging to Bhrign race was staying in a Himalayan mountain. Kalindi (Asita's wife) approached that sage and offered her salutation. [2-110-19]
स तामभ्यवदद्विप्रो वरेप्सुं पुत्रजन्मनि | पुत्रस्ते भविता देवि महात्मा लोकविश्रुतः || २-११०-२०
That brahmna spoke the following words to her, who wanted to obtain a boon for the birth of a son, 'Oh ! queen, you will beget a son who will be magnanimous, renowned in the world,..... - [2-110-20]
