मिथिलाधिपतिर्वीरो जनको नाम धर्मवित् । क्षत्रधर्मे ह्यभिरतो न्यायतः शास्ति मेदिनीम् ॥ २-११८-२७
- 'There is a king in Mithila, Janaka by name. He is heroic and is conversant with righteousness. Engaged in the duties of a kshatriya, he rules the earth with justice. ॥ 2-118-27॥
english translation
mithilAdhipatirvIro janako nAma dharmavit । kSatradharme hyabhirato nyAyataH zAsti medinIm ॥ 2-118-27
