विमृज्य बाष्पम् परिसान्त्व्य च असकृत् । स लक्ष्मणम् राघव वंश वर्धनः । उवाचपित्र्ये वचने व्यवस्थितम् । निबोध माम् एष हि सौम्य सत् पथः ॥ २-२३-४१

sanskrit

Wiping the tears again and again and having consoled Lakshmana for more than once, Rama, the enhancer of the glory of the Raghu dynasty said, 'Oh ! handsome one know, for sure, that I am firm in abiding by the words of our father. This is the true path (for me).' ॥ 2-23-41॥

english translation

vimRjya bASpam parisAntvya ca asakRt । sa lakSmaNam rAghava vaMza vardhanaH । uvAcapitrye vacane vyavasthitam । nibodha mAm eSa hi saumya sat pathaH ॥ 2-23-41
