गतॊ दशरथः सवर्गं वनस्थौ रामलक्ष्मणौ गृहाण राज्यं विपुलं कषेमं निहतकण्टकम ॥ ३-२६१-३१ ॥
'Dasharatha has ascended to heaven, and both Rama and Lakshmana are in the forest. Take this vast kingdom, now secure and free from rivals.' ॥ 3-261-31 ॥
english translation
ताम उवाच स धर्मात्मा नृशंसं बत ते कृतम पतिं हित्वा कुलं चेदम उत्साद्य धनलुब्धया ॥ ३-२६१-३२ ॥
'Thereupon, the virtuous Bharata said to her: 'What a cruel deed you have done! For the sake of wealth alone, you have forsaken your husband and brought ruin upon this family.' ॥ 3-261-32 ॥
english translation
अयशॊ पातयित्वा मे मूर्ध्नि तवं कुलपांसने सकामा भव मे मातर इत्य उक्त्वा पररुरॊद ह ॥ ३-२६१-३३ ॥
'By casting disgrace upon me, O wretched woman of our race, you have achieved your desire, O mother! Having spoken thus, he wept bitterly.' ॥ 3-261-33 ॥
english translation
स चारित्वं विशॊध्याथ सर्वप्रकृतिसंनिधौ अन्वयाद भरातरं रामं विनिवर्तन लालसः ॥ ३-२६१-३४ ॥
'Having spoken these words, the prince wept bitterly. Then, after proving his innocence before all the subjects of the realm, he set out in pursuit of Rama, longing to bring him back.' ॥ 3-261-34 ॥

कौसल्यां च सुमित्रां च कैकेयीं च सुदुःखितः अग्रे परस्थाप्य यानैः स शत्रुघ्नसहितॊ ययौ ॥ ३-२६१-३५ ॥
'Placing Kausalya, Sumitra, and Kaikeyi in the foremost chariots, he set forth with a heavy heart, accompanied by Shatrughna.' ॥ 3-261-35 ॥
