[वै] एवम उक्तॊ महाबाहुर भीमसेनः परतापवान परनिपत्य ततः परीत्या भरातरं हृष्टमानसः उवाच शलक्ष्णया वाचा हनूमन्तं कपीश्वरम ॥ ३-१४८-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued: "Thus addressed, the mighty-armed Bhimasena, full of glory, bowed down respectfully and with a delighted heart, spoke to the chief of the monkeys, Hanuman, in words full of affection."' ॥ 3-148-1 ॥
english translation
मया धन्यतरॊ नास्ति यद आर्यं दृष्टवान अहम अनुग्रहॊ मे सुमहांस तृप्तिश च तव दर्शनात ॥ ३-१४८-२ ॥
'Hanuman, the monkey-chief, spoke in gentle words, "None is more fortunate than I. Today, I have had the honor of seeing my elder brother. This is a great favor you have shown me, and I am deeply pleased. "' ॥ 3-148-2 ॥
english translation
एवं तु कृतम इच्छामि तवयार्याद्य परियं मम यत ते तदासीत पलवतः सागरं मकरालयम रूपम अप्रतिमं वीर तद इच्छामि निरीक्षितुम ॥ ३-१४८-३ ॥
'Now, I humbly request that you fulfill this desire of mine. I wish to behold, O hero, that incomparable form of yours, which you displayed when you leapt across the vast ocean, the dwelling place of sharks and crocodiles.' ॥ 3-148-3 ॥

एवं तुष्टॊ भविष्यामि शरद्धास्यामि च ते वचः एवम उक्तः स तेजॊ वी परहस्य हरिर अब्रवीत ॥ ३-१४८-४ ॥
'By seeing it, I shall be satisfied and have faith in your words. Having spoken this, the mighty Hanuman smiled and, with a radiant glow, replied.' ॥ 3-148-4 ॥
english translation
न तच छक्यं तवया दरष्टुं रूपं नान्येन केन चित कालावस्था तदा हय अन्या वर्तते सा न सांप्रतम ॥ ३-१४८-५ ॥
'That form of mine, neither you nor anyone else can behold. At that time, the circumstances were different, and they no longer exist in the present.' ॥ 3-148-5 ॥
