[धृ] एवम एतन महाप्राज्ञ यथा वदसि नॊ मुने अहं चैव विजानामि सर्वे चेमे नराधिपाः ॥ ३-११-१ ॥
'Dhritarashtra said, "O sage of profound wisdom, what you have said is indeed true! I know this well, as do all these kings."' ॥ 3-11-1 ॥
english translation
भवांस तु मन्यते साधु यत कुरूणां सुखॊदयम तद एव विदुरॊ ऽपय आह भीष्मॊ दरॊणश च मां मुने ॥ ३-११-२ ॥
'What you consider beneficial for the Kauravas was also pointed out to me by Vidura, Bhishma, and Drona.' ॥ 3-11-2 ॥
english translation
यदि तव अहम अनुग्राह्यः कौरवेषु दया यदि अनुशाधि दुरात्मानं पुत्रं दुर्यॊधनं मम ॥ ३-११-३ ॥
'If I am deserving of your favor and if you have any kindness for the Kauravas, I entreat you to advise my son Duryodhana!' ॥ 3-11-3 ॥
english translation
[वय] अयम आयाति वै राजन मैत्रेयॊ भवगान ऋषिः अन्वीय पाण्डवान भरातॄन इहैवास्मद दिदृक्षया ॥ ३-११-४ ॥
'Vyasa said, "O king, behold the great sage Maitreya, who comes here with the intent of seeing us and the Pandava brothers."' ॥ 3-11-4 ॥
english translation
एष दुर्यॊधनं पुत्रं तव राजन महान ऋषिः अनुशास्ता यथान्यायं शमायास्य कुलस्य ते ॥ ३-११-५ ॥
'O King, that mighty sage will counsel your son for the benefit of your dynasty.' ॥ 3-11-5 ॥
