[मार्क] अथ कन्याप्रदाने स तम एवार्थं विचिन्तयन समानिन्ये च तत सर्वं भाण्डं वैवाहिकं नृपः ॥ ३-२७९-१ ॥
'Markandeya said, "Having pondered over Narada’s words concerning his daughter’s marriage, the king began making preparations for the nuptials."' ॥ 3-279-1 ॥
english translation
ततॊ वृद्धान दविजान सर्वान ऋत्विजः सपुरॊहितान समाहूय तिथौ पुण्ये परययौ सह कन्यया ॥ ३-२७९-२ ॥
'And summoning all the elderly Brahmanas and Ritwijas along with the chief priests, he proceeded with his daughter on the auspicious day.' ॥ 3-279-2 ॥
english translation
मेध्यारण्यं स गत्वा च दयुमत्सेनाश्रमं नृपः पद्भ्याम एव दविजैः सार्धं राजर्षिं तम उपागमत ॥ ३-२७९-३ ॥
'And arriving at the hermitage of Dyumatsena in the sacred forest, the king, accompanied by the twice-born, approached the royal sage on foot.' ॥ 3-279-3 ॥
english translation
तत्रापश्यन महाभागं शालवृक्षम उपाश्रितम कौश्यां बृस्यां समासीनं चक्षुर हीनं नृपं तदा ॥ ३-२७९-४ ॥
'And there he beheld the wise and blind monarch seated on a cushion of kusa grass beneath a sala tree.' ॥ 3-279-4 ॥
english translation
स राजा तस्य राजर्षेः कृत्वा पूजां यथार्हतः वाचा सुनियतॊ भूत्वा चकारात्म निवेदनम ॥ ३-२७९-५ ॥
'And after duly reverencing the royal sage, the king humbly introduced himself.' ॥ 3-279-5 ॥
