सुदेव उवाच विदर्भराजॊ धर्मात्मा भीमॊ भीमपराक्रमः सुतेयं तस्य कल्याणी दमयन्तीति विश्रुता ॥ ३-६६-१ ॥
'Sudeva said, 'There is a virtuous and illustrious ruler of the Vidarbhas named Bhima. This blessed lady is his daughter, widely known as Damayanti.'' ॥ 3-66-1 ॥
english translation
राजा तु नैषधॊ नाम वीरसेनसुतॊ नलः भार्येयं तस्य कल्याणी पुण्यश्लॊकस्य धीमतः ॥ ३-६६-२ ॥
'Additionally, there is a king named Nala, the son of Virasena, who rules the Nishadhas. This blessed lady is the wife of that wise and righteous monarch.' ॥ 3-66-2 ॥

स वै दयूते जितॊ भरात्रा हृतराज्यॊ महीपतिः दमयन्त्या गतः सार्धं न परज्ञायत कर्हि चित ॥ ३-६६-३ ॥
'Defeated at dice by his brother and stripped of his kingdom, the king quietly departed with Damayanti, unnoticed by anyone. We have since been wandering the earth in search of her.' ॥ 3-66-3 ॥
english translation
ते वयं दमयन्त्यर्थं चरामः पृथिवीम इमाम सेयम आसादिता बाला तव पुत्रनिवेशने ॥ ३-६६-४ ॥
'We wander on this earth for the purpose of earning a living. That girl, having reached your home, is now well established.' ॥ 3-66-4 ॥

अस्या रूपेण सदृशी मानुषी नेह विद्यते अस्याश चैव भरुवॊर मध्ये सहजः पिप्लुर उत्तमः शयामायाः पद्मसंकाशॊ लक्षितॊ ऽनतर्हितॊ मया ॥ ३-६६-५ ॥
'And at last, that girl has been found in your son's home. No woman exists who rivals her beauty. Between the brows of this eternally youthful maiden, there is a lovely birthmark that resembles a lotus.' ॥ 3-66-5 ॥
