मलेन संवृतॊ हय अस्यास तन्वभ्रेणेव चन्द्रमाः चिह्नभूतॊ विभूत्यर्थम अयं धात्रा विनिर्मितः ॥ ३-६६-६ ॥
'It appears to have vanished from our sight, obscured like the moon behind a veil of clouds, its beauty covered in dust. This mole, placed by the Creator as a sign of prosperity and wealth, is faintly visible, resembling the slender crescent of the moon at the beginning of the lighted fortnight.' ॥ 3-66-6 ॥

परतिपत कलुषेवेन्दॊर लेखा नाति विराजते न चास्या नश्यते रूपं वपुर मलसमाचितम असंस्कृतम अपि वयक्तं भाति काञ्चनसंनिभम ॥ ३-६६-७ ॥
'Though her body is covered in dust, her beauty remains undiminished. Even in her carelessness, it still shines forth, like gold.' ॥ 3-66-7 ॥
english translation
अनेन वपुषा बाला पिप्लुनानेन चैव ह लक्षितेयं मया देवी पिहितॊ ऽगनिर इवॊष्मणा ॥ ३-६६-८ ॥
'This girl—goddess-like—distinguishable by her form and that mole, has been found by me, much like discovering a hidden fire by its warmth!' ॥ 3-66-8 ॥
english translation
बृहदश्व उवाच तच छरुत्वा वचनं तस्य सुदेवस्य विशां पते सुनन्दा शॊधयाम आस पिप्लुप्रच्छादनं मलम ॥ ३-६६-९ ॥
'Brihadashva said: Having heard those words of Sudeva, O lord of the people, Sunanda cleansed away the dirt that concealed [her] beauty.' ॥ 3-66-9 ॥
english translation
स मलेनापकृष्टेन पिप्लुस तस्या वयरॊचत दमयन्त्यास तदा वयभ्रे नभसीव निशाकरः ॥ ३-६६-१० ॥
'With the dirt removed, her beauty then shone forth, Like the moon in a clear sky, [revealing] Damayanti.' ॥ 3-66-10 ॥
