तिष्ठन्ति वर्त्मानि नवान्य अमूनि; वृक्षाश च न मलान्ति तथैव भग्नाः आवर्तयध्वं हय अनुयात शीघ्रं; न दूरयातैव हि राजपुत्री ॥ ३-२५३-१६ ॥
'The path he took is still visible, for the broken branches of trees have not yet faded. Therefore, turn your chariots and follow her swiftly, For the princess cannot have gone far by now!' ॥ 3-253-16 ॥

संनह्यध्वं सर्व एवेन्द्र कल्पा; महान्ति चारूणि च दंशनानि गृह्णीत चापानि महाधनानि; शरांश च शीघ्रं पदवीं वरजध्वम ॥ ३-२५३-१७ ॥
'Arm yourselves, all of you who are like Indra, Put on your great and beautiful armor, Take up your mighty bows of great value, And quickly take your positions with arrows.' ॥ 3-253-17 ॥

पुरा हि निर्भर्त्सन दण्डमॊहिता; परमूढ चित्ता वदनेन शुष्यता ददाति कस्मै चिद अनर्हते तनुं; वराज्य पूर्णाम इव भस्मनि शरुचम ॥ ३-२५३-१८ ॥
'Hasten in pursuit, lest she, overpowered by threats or violence, Loses her composure and the color of her cheeks, And surrenders to an undeserving wretch, Just as one pours a sanctified offering from the sacrificial ladle onto a heap of ashes.' ॥ 3-253-18 ॥

पुरा तुषाग्नाव इव हूयते हविः; पुरा शमशाने सरग इवापविध्यते पुरा च सॊमॊ ऽधवरगॊ ऽवलिह्यते; शुना यथा विप्रजने परमॊहिते महत्य अरण्ये मृगयां चरित्वा; पुरा शृगालॊ नलिनीं विगाहते ॥ ३-२५३-१९ ॥
'O, see that the clarified butter is not poured into a fire that refuses to ignite, That a garland of flowers is not carelessly discarded in the cemetery. O, take care that the Soma juice of the sacrifice is not licked up by a dog, Through the negligence of the officiating priests! And let not the lotus be violently torn by a jackal, Roaming for its prey in the impenetrable forest.' ॥ 3-253-19 ॥

मा वः परियायाः सुनसं सुलॊचनं; चन्द्रप्रभाच्छं वदनं परसन्नम सपृश्याच छुभं कश चिद अकृत्य कारी; शवा वै पुरॊडाशम इवॊपयुङ्क्षीत एतानि वर्त्मान्य अनुयात शीघ्रं; मा वः कालः कषिप्रम इहात्यगाद वै ॥ ३-२५३-२० ॥
'O, let no inferior wretch touch with his lips the bright and beautiful face of your wife, Fair as the moon's beams, adorned with a perfect nose and the most handsome eyes, Like a dog licking the clarified butter in the sacrificial pot! Hasten along this path, and let not time gain the advantage over you!' ॥ 3-253-20 ॥
