[य] भद्रे तूष्णीम आस्स्व नियच्छ वाचं; मास्मत सकाशे परुसाण्य अवॊचः राजानॊ वा यदि वा राजपुत्रा; बलेन मत्ता वञ्चनां पराप्नुवन्ति ॥ ३-२५३-२१ ॥
'Yudhishthira said, "Retire, good woman, and control your tongue. Speak not thus before us. Kings or princes, whoever are infatuated with power, are certain to meet with ruin!"' ॥ 3-253-21 ॥

[वै] एतावद उक्त्वा परययुर हि शीघ्रं; तान्य एव वर्त्मान्य अनुवर्तमानाः मुहुर मुहुर वयालवद उच्छसन्तॊ; जयां विक्षिपन्तश च महाधनुर भयः ॥ ३-२५३-२२ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "With these words, they departed, following the track pointed out to them, frequently breathing deep sighs like the hissing of snakes, and twanging the strings of their large bows."' ॥ 3-253-22 ॥

ततॊ ऽपश्यंस तस्य सैन्यस्य रेणुम; उद्धूतं वै जावि खुरप्रणुन्नम पदातीनां मध्यगतं च धौम्यं; विक्रॊशन्तं भीमम अभिद्रवेति ॥ ३-२५३-२३ ॥
'And then they observed a cloud of dust raised by the hoofs of the steeds belonging to Jayadratha's army. They also saw Dhaumya in the midst of the ravisher's infantry, urging Bhima to quicken his steps.' ॥ 3-253-23 ॥

ते सान्त्व्य धौम्यं परिदीनसत्त्वाः; सुखं भवान एत्व इति राजपुत्राः शयेना यथैवामिष संप्रयुक्ता; जवेन तः सैन्यम अथाभ्यधावन ॥ ३-२५३-२४ ॥
'Then those princes (the sons of Pandu), their hearts untroubled, comforted him and said, "Do not be distressed; return with a cheerful heart!" Afterwards, with great fury, they charged towards that host, like hawks swooping down upon their prey.' ॥ 3-253-24 ॥

तेषां महेन्द्रॊपमविक्रमाणां; संरब्धानां धर्षणाद याज्ञसेन्याः करॊधः परजज्वाल जयद्रथं च; दृष्ट्वा परियां तस्य रथे सथितां च ॥ ३-२५३-२५ ॥
'Possessed of the prowess of Indra, the sons of Pandu were filled with fury at the insult to Draupadi. Upon seeing Jayadratha and their beloved wife seated in his chariot, their rage knew no bounds.' ॥ 3-253-25 ॥
