पुरा हि निर्भर्त्सन दण्डमॊहिता; परमूढ चित्ता वदनेन शुष्यता ददाति कस्मै चिद अनर्हते तनुं; वराज्य पूर्णाम इव भस्मनि शरुचम ॥ ३-२५३-१८ ॥

sanskrit

'Hasten in pursuit, lest she, overpowered by threats or violence, Loses her composure and the color of her cheeks, And surrenders to an undeserving wretch, Just as one pours a sanctified offering from the sacrificial ladle onto a heap of ashes.' ।। 3-253-18 ।।

english translation

purA hi nirbhartsana daNDamòhitA; paramUDha cittA vadanena zuSyatA dadAti kasmai cida anarhate tanuM; varAjya pUrNAma iva bhasmani zarucama ॥ 3-253-18 ॥
