सनेहान नरवरॊ नूनम अविश्वासाद वनस्य च नकुलं सहदेवं च न मॊक्ष्यति युधिष्ठिरः ।। ३-१४६-३६ ।।

sanskrit

'Surely, out of affection and doubt regarding their abilities, Yudhishthira, the foremost of men, will not allow Nakula and Sahadeva to come in search of us.' ।। 3-146-36 ।।

english translation

sanehAna naravarò nUnama avizvAsAda vanasya ca nakulaM sahadevaM ca na mòkSyati yudhiSThiraH || 3-146-36 ||

hk transliteration

कथं नु कुसुमावाप्तिः सयाच छीघ्रम इति चिन्तयन परतस्थे नरशार्दूलः पक्षिराड इव वेगितः ।। ३-१४६-३७ ।।

sanskrit

'As he thought, "How can I quickly obtain the flowers?" the tiger among men, Bhima, set forth, moving with the speed of a bird in flight.' ।। 3-146-37 ।।

english translation

kathaM nu kusumAvAptiH sayAca chIghrama iti cintayana paratasthe narazArdUlaH pakSirADa iva vegitaH || 3-146-37 ||

कम्पयन मेदिनीं पद्भ्यां निर्घात इव पर्वसु तरासयन गजयूथानि वातरंहा वृकॊदरः ।। ३-१४६-३८ ।।

sanskrit

'Thinking thus, that tiger among men, Bhima, moved forward swiftly, like the king of birds, his mind and gaze fixed on the enchanting slopes of the mountain.' ।। 3-146-38 ।।

english translation

kampayana medinIM padbhyAM nirghAta iva parvasu tarAsayana gajayUthAni vAtaraMhA vRkòdaraH || 3-146-38 ||

सिंहव्याघ्र गणांश चैव मर्दमानॊ महाबलः उन्मूलयन महावृक्षान पॊथयंश चॊरसा बली ।। ३-१४६-३९ ।।

sanskrit

'With the words of Draupadi as his motivation, the mighty Vrikodara, son of Pandu, endowed with strength and the swiftness of the wind, made the earth tremble beneath his steps, like a hurricane at the equinox.' ।। 3-146-39 ।।

siMhavyAghra gaNAMza caiva mardamAnò mahAbalaH unmUlayana mahAvRkSAna pòthayaMza còrasA balI || 3-146-39 ||

तला वल्लीश च वेगेन विकर्षन पाण्डुनन्दनः उपर्य उपरि शैलाग्रम आरुरुक्षुर इव दविपः विनर्दमानॊ ऽतिभृशं सविद्युदिव तॊयदः ।। ३-१४६-४० ।।

sanskrit

'He terrified herds of elephants, crushed lions, tigers, and deer, uprooted and shattered great trees, and tore away plants and creepers with ease. His progress was as unstoppable as an elephant climbing a mountain's peak, and he roared fiercely, like a thundercloud.' ।। 3-146-40 ।।
