जिघ्रमाणॊ महातेजाः सर्वर्तुकुसुमॊद्भवम गन्धम उद्दामम उद्दामॊ वने मत्त इव दविपः ।। ३-१४६-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Like an elephant in rut, madly roaming the forest, the mighty Bhima inhaled the rare fragrance emanating from the flowers of every season.' ।। 3-146-21 ।।

english translation

jighramANò mahAtejAH sarvartukusumòdbhavama gandhama uddAmama uddAmò vane matta iva davipaH || 3-146-21 ||

हरियमाण शरमः पित्रा संप्रहृष्टतनूरुहः पितुः संस्पर्शशीतेन गन्धमादन वायुना ।। ३-१४६-२२ ।।

sanskrit

'The fresh breeze of Gandhamadana, carrying the perfumes of various blossoms, fanned him, soothing him like a father's gentle touch.' ।। 3-146-22 ।।

english translation

स यक्षगन्धर्वसुरब्रह्मर्षिगणसेवितम विलॊडयाम आस तदा पुष्पहेतॊर अरिंदमः ।। ३-१४६-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'When his fatigue was alleviated, the hairs on his body stood on end. In this state, the mighty Bhima, in search of the flowers, began to survey the entire mountain, which was inhabited by Yakshas, Gandharvas, celestials, and Brahmarshis.' ।। 3-146-23 ।।

'Brushed by the leaves of the Saptachchada tree and smeared with fresh red, black, and white minerals, the mountain seemed adorned with lines of sacred unguents, as if painted by fingers.' ।। 3-146-24 ।।

'With clouds draping its sides, it appeared to dance with outspread wings. The trickling waters of the springs made it look as if it were adorned with necklaces of pearls.' ।। 3-146-25 ।।
