Because he is the origin and dissolution of all—of both the unmanifest and the manifest—and because he has constant knowledge of everything, they designate him as “Sarva” (the All).

english translation

Kṛṣṇa is established in truth, and truth is established in him. From truth arises truth; therefore Govinda is also, by name, “Satya” (Truth).

english translation

He is called Viṣṇu because of his all-pervading stride (vikrama). Because of victory, he is called Jiṣṇu. Because of eternality, he is Ananta. And because of his knowing and caring for the “cows” (gavām)—understood as beings or the Vedic herds—he is Govinda.

english translation

He can present the non-real as real, and by that he can cause delusion among people. Such is the Blessed One—ever constant in dharma—together with the sages. Indeed, the mighty-armed Acyuta will come for the sake of ānṛśaṃsya, to prevent harm and uphold humane order.
