Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: I envy those who have sight, Sañjaya—those who will see Vāsudeva nearby, radiant with a transcendent form, illuminating the quarters and all directions.

english translation

I take refuge in Him who sets in motion the sacred speech of the Bhāratas—worthy of reverent worship, beneficent to the Sṛñjayas—praiseworthy and blameless for those who seek well-being, yet of a form not to be grasped by those whose vital force has departed.

english translation

I take refuge in the eminent Sātvata hero who rises to action—the guide and foremost of the Yādavas—who neutralizes hostile forces, unsettles adversarial designs, and diminishes the renown of those who act in enmity.

english translation

The Kurus, assembled, will behold that great-souled and eminent adversary-subduer—the foremost of the Vṛṣṇis—speaking words shaped by non-cruelty, yet confounding those aligned with my side.

english translation

I take refuge in the most ancient seer, the discerning one—an ocean of speech, a vessel for ascetics; Ariṣṭanemi, Garuḍa, Suparṇa; the lord of beings, the abode of the world.
