समाहूय महात्मानं जितवन्तॊ ऽकषकॊविदाः अनक्षज्ञं यथाश्रद्धं तेषु धर्मजयः कुतः ।। ५-३-६ ।।

sanskrit

‘Skilled as they were in the game of dice, these persons challenged the magnanimous Yudhishthira, inexperienced in play, and by trusting them, he was defeated. Can such persons be said to have won the game righteously?’ ।। 5-3-6 ।।

english translation

samAhUya mahAtmAnaM jitavantò 'kaSakòvidAH anakSajJaM yathAzraddhaM teSu dharmajayaH kutaH || 5-3-6 ||
