एष नार्थविहीनेन शक्यॊ राजन निषेवितुम अखिलाः पुरुषव्याघ्र गुणाः सयुर यद्य अपीतरे ॥ ३-३४-४६ ॥
'These virtues, however, cannot be attained by one who lacks wealth, even if, O foremost among men, he possesses countless other accomplishments.' ॥ 3-34-46 ॥
english translation
eSa nArthavihInena zakyò rAjana niSevituma akhilAH puruSavyAghra guNAH sayura yadya apItare ॥ 3-34-46 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptधर्ममूलं जगद राजन नान्यद धर्माद विशिष्यते धर्मश चार्थेन महता शक्यॊ राजन निषेवितुम ॥ ३-३४-४७ ॥
'The entire universe, O king, rests upon virtue; nothing is higher than virtue. Moreover, virtue can be attained by one who possesses ample wealth.' ॥ 3-34-47 ॥
english translation
dharmamUlaM jagada rAjana nAnyada dharmAda viziSyate dharmaza cArthena mahatA zakyò rAjana niSevituma ॥ 3-34-47 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन चार्थॊ भैक्ष चर्येण नापि कलैब्येन कर्हि चित वेत्तुं शक्यः सदा राजन केवलं धर्मबुद्धिना ॥ ३-३४-४८ ॥
'Wealth cannot be acquired through a life of asceticism or weakness. It can only be gained through a righteous understanding.' ॥ 3-34-48 ॥
english translation
na cArthò bhaikSa caryeNa nApi kalaibyena karhi cita vettuM zakyaH sadA rAjana kevalaM dharmabuddhinA ॥ 3-34-48 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरतिषिद्धा हि ते याच्ञा यया सिध्यति वै दविजः तेजसैवार्थ लिप्सायां यतस्व पुरुषर्षभ ॥ ३-३४-४९ ॥
'In your case, O king, begging, though effective for Brahmanas, is not permitted. Therefore, O foremost among men, strive to acquire wealth through your own efforts and vigor.' ॥ 3-34-49 ॥

paratiSiddhA hi te yAcJA yayA sidhyati vai davijaH tejasaivArtha lipsAyAM yatasva puruSarSabha ॥ 3-34-49 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभैक्ष चर्या न विहिता न च विट शूद्र जीविका कषत्रियस्य विशेषेण धर्मस तु बलम औरसम ॥ ३-३४-५० ॥
'Neither mendicancy nor the lifestyle of a Sudra is suitable for you. For a Kshatriya, strength and vigor are the essence of virtue.' ॥ 3-34-50 ॥

bhaikSa caryA na vihitA na ca viTa zUdra jIvikA kaSatriyasya vizeSeNa dharmasa tu balama aurasama ॥ 3-34-50 ॥
