न चार्थॊ भैक्ष चर्येण नापि कलैब्येन कर्हि चित वेत्तुं शक्यः सदा राजन केवलं धर्मबुद्धिना ॥ ३-३४-४८ ॥

sanskrit

'Wealth cannot be acquired through a life of asceticism or weakness. It can only be gained through a righteous understanding.' ॥ 3-34-48 ॥

english translation

na cArthò bhaikSa caryeNa nApi kalaibyena karhi cita vettuM zakyaH sadA rAjana kevalaM dharmabuddhinA ॥ 3-34-48 ॥
