[वै] याज्ञसेन्या वचः शरुत्वा भीमसेनॊ ऽतयमर्षणः निःश्वसन्न उपसंगम्य करुद्धॊ राजानम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-३४-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, Upon hearing the words of Draupadi, Bhimasena, seething with uncontrollable anger, approached the king, breathing heavily, and addressed him in a voice filled with rage.' ॥ 3-34-1 ॥
english translation
[vai] yAjJasenyA vacaH zarutvA bhImasenò 'tayamarSaNaH niHzvasanna upasaMgamya karuddhò rAjAnama abravIta ॥ 3-34-1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptराज्यस्य पदवीं धर्म्यां वरज सत्पुरुषॊचिताम धर्मकामार्थ हीनानां किं नॊ वस्तुं तपॊवने ॥ ३-३४-२ ॥
'O monarch, follow the noble path that righteous kings before you have walked. What do we gain by living in an ascetic's retreat, deprived of virtue, pleasure, and prosperity?' ॥ 3-34-2 ॥

rAjyasya padavIM dharmyAM varaja satpuruSòcitAma dharmakAmArtha hInAnAM kiM nò vastuM tapòvane ॥ 3-34-2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनैव धर्मेण तद राज्यं नार्जवेन न चौजसा अक्षकूटम अधिष्ठाय हृतं दुर्यॊधनेन नः ॥ ३-३४-३ ॥
'Our kingdom was not seized through virtue, honesty, or strength, but was unjustly snatched by Duryodhana through the deceit of dice.' ॥ 3-34-3 ॥

naiva dharmeNa tada rAjyaM nArjavena na caujasA akSakUTama adhiSThAya hRtaM duryòdhanena naH ॥ 3-34-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगॊमायुनेव सिंहानां दुर्बलेन बलीयसाम आमिषं विघसाशेन तद्वद राज्यं हि नॊ हृतम ॥ ३-३४-४ ॥
'Like a feeble jackal stealing the prey from mighty lions, he has snatched our kingdom away.' ॥ 3-34-4 ॥

gòmAyuneva siMhAnAM durbalena balIyasAma AmiSaM vighasAzena tadvada rAjyaM hi nò hRtama ॥ 3-34-4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptधर्मलेश परतिच्छन्नः परभवं धर्मकामयॊः अर्थम उत्सृज्य किं राजन दुर्गेषु परितप्यसे ॥ ३-३४-५ ॥
'O monarch, why do you endure such distress by adhering to the empty merit of keeping a promise, while forsaking the wealth that sustains both virtue and pleasure?' ॥ 3-34-5 ॥

dharmaleza paraticchannaH parabhavaM dharmakAmayòH arthama utsRjya kiM rAjana durgeSu paritapyase ॥ 3-34-5 ॥
