बराह्मणं मे पिता पूर्वं वासयाम आस पण्डितम सॊ ऽसमा अर्थम इमं पराह पित्रे मे भरतर्षभ ॥ ३-३३-५६ ॥
'My father once hosted a learned Brahmin. O descendant of the Bharata dynasty, he conveyed all this wisdom to my father.' ॥ 3-33-56 ॥
english translation
नीतिं बृहस्पतिप्रॊक्तां भरातॄन मे ऽगराहयत पुरा तेषां सांकथ्यम अश्रौषम अहम एतत तदा गृहे ॥ ३-३३-५७ ॥
'Indeed, these instructions on duty, spoken by Vrihaspati himself, were first imparted to my brothers. It was from them that I later heard these teachings while at my father’s house.' ॥ 3-33-57 ॥
english translation
स मां राजन कर्मवतीम आगताम आह सान्त्वयन शुश्रूषमाणाम आसीनां पितुर अङ्के युधिष्ठिर ॥ ३-३३-५८ ॥
'O Yudhishthira, during breaks from my duties, I would go out and sit on my father's lap. During these times, that learned Brahmin would recite these truths to me, soothing me with his words.' ॥ 3-33-58 ॥
