यं तु धीरॊ ऽनववेक्षेत शरेयांसं बहुभिर गुणैः साम्नैवार्थं ततॊ लिप्सेत कर्म चास्मै परयॊजयेत ॥ ३-३३-५१ ॥
'When a wise person observes that their adversary excels in many qualities, they should pursue their objectives through the strategies of conciliation and the effective use of resources.' ॥ 3-33-51 ॥
english translation
yaM tu dhIrò 'navavekSeta zareyAMsaM bahubhira guNaiH sAmnaivArthaM tatò lipseta karma cAsmai parayòjayeta ॥ 3-33-51 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवयसनं वास्य काङ्क्षेत विनाशं वा युधिष्ठिर अपि सिन्धॊर गिरेर वापि किं पुनर मर्त्यधर्मिणः ॥ ३-३३-५२ ॥
'He should also desire the downfall and exile of his enemy. Whether facing a mortal or even a vast entity like the ocean or mountains, such motives should guide his actions.' ॥ 3-33-52 ॥
english translation
vayasanaM vAsya kAGkSeta vinAzaM vA yudhiSThira api sindhòra girera vApi kiM punara martyadharmiNaH ॥ 3-33-52 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउत्थान युक्तः सततं परेषाम अन्तरैषिणे आनृण्यम आप्नॊति नरः परस्यात्मन एव च ॥ ३-३३-५३ ॥
'A person fulfills his obligations to himself and his allies by actively seeking out the weaknesses of his enemies.' ॥ 3-33-53 ॥
english translation
utthAna yuktaH satataM pareSAma antaraiSiNe AnRNyama Apnòti naraH parasyAtmana eva ca ॥ 3-33-53 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन चैवात्मावमन्तव्यः पुरुषेण कदा चन न हय आत्मपरिभूतस्य भूतिर भवति भारत ॥ ३-३३-५४ ॥
'One should never disparage oneself, for those who do will never attain great prosperity. O Bharata, success in this world is achieved by maintaining self-respect.' ॥ 3-33-54 ॥

na caivAtmAvamantavyaH puruSeNa kadA cana na haya AtmaparibhUtasya bhUtira bhavati bhArata ॥ 3-33-54 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं संस्थितिका सिद्धिर इयं लॊकस्य भारत चित्रा सिद्धिगतिः परॊक्ता कालावस्था विभागतः ॥ ३-३३-५५ ॥
'This is the nature of success in this world, O Bharata. The path to success is described as being complex, varying according to time and circumstance.' ॥ 3-33-55 ॥
