परपतेद दयौः सनक्षत्रा पृथिवी शकलीभवेत शैत्यम अग्निर इयान नाहं तयजेयं रगुनन्दनम ॥ ३-२६२-३६ ॥
'The heavens with all their stars may collapse, the very Earth may shatter into fragments, and fire may lose its heat—yet I shall never forsake the scion of Raghu!' ॥ 3-262-36 ॥
english translation
parapateda dayauH sanakSatrA pRthivI zakalIbhaveta zaityama agnira iyAna nAhaM tayajeyaM ragunandanama ॥ 3-262-36 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकथं हि भिन्नकरटं पद्मिनं वनगॊचरम उपस्थाय महानागं करेणुः सूकरं सपृशेत ॥ ३-२६२-३७ ॥
'How can a female elephant (karenu), having approached a mighty elephant with ichor flowing from its temples (living in the forest with lotus), touch/approach a mere boar?' ॥ 3-262-37 ॥
english translation
kathaM hi bhinnakaraTaM padminaM vanagòcarama upasthAya mahAnAgaM kareNuH sUkaraM sapRzeta ॥ 3-262-37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकथं हि पीत्वा माध्वीकं पीत्वा च मधुमाधवीम लॊभं सौवीरके कुर्यान नारी का चिद इति समरे ॥ ३-२६२-३८ ॥
'Having once tasted the sweet wine of honey or flowers, how can a woman, I wonder, ever relish the vile arrak brewed from rice?' ॥ 3-262-38 ॥
english translation
kathaM hi pItvA mAdhvIkaM pItvA ca madhumAdhavIma lòbhaM sauvIrake kuryAna nArI kA cida iti samare ॥ 3-262-38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति सा तं समाभाष्य परविवेशाश्रमं पुनः ताम अनुद्रुत्य सुश्रॊणीं रावणः परत्यषेधयत ॥ ३-२६२-३९ ॥
'Having spoken thus, her lips quivering with anger and her garments fluttering as she moved, she swiftly entered the hermitage again. But that wicked Rakshasa prince pursued her, swiftly seizing the edge of her garment, and blocked her path.' ॥ 3-262-39 ॥

iti sA taM samAbhASya paravivezAzramaM punaH tAma anudrutya suzròNIM rAvaNaH paratyaSedhayata ॥ 3-262-39 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptभर्त्सयित्वा तु रूक्षेण सवरेण गतचेतनाम मूर्धजेषु निजग्राह खम उपाचक्रमे ततः ॥ ३-२६२-४० ॥
'Harshly rebuked by the Rakshasa, she lost consciousness. But Ravana, mercilessly seizing her by the hair, ascended into the sky.' ॥ 3-262-40 ॥

bhartsayitvA tu rUkSeNa savareNa gatacetanAma mUrdhajeSu nijagrAha khama upAcakrame tataH ॥ 3-262-40 ॥
