अदासॊ गच्छ मुक्तॊ ऽसि मैवं कार्षीः पुनः कव चित सत्री कामुक धिग अस्तु तवां कषुद्रः कषुद्रसहायवान एवंविधं हि कः कुर्यात तवदन्यः पुरुषाधमः ॥ ३-२५६-२१ ॥
'You are now a free man—I release you! Depart, and never again commit such a deed. Shame upon you! Though weak and ignoble, you dared to seize a lady by force. What other wretch but you would conceive such a vile act?' ॥ 3-256-21 ॥
english translation
गतसत्त्वम इव जञात्वा कर्तारम अशुभस्य तम संप्रेक्ष्य भरतश्रेष्ठः कृपां चक्रे नराधिपः ॥ ३-२५६-२२ ॥
'Then that foremost king of Bharata's race, beholding the perpetrator of wicked deeds with pity and believing him to be utterly senseless.' ॥ 3-256-22 ॥
english translation
धर्मे ते वर्धतां बुद्धिर मा चाधर्मे मनॊ कृथाः साश्वः सरथ पादातः सवस्ति गच्छ जयद्रथ ॥ ३-२५६-२३ ॥
'May your understanding in dharma (righteousness) increase, and may your mind not turn towards adharma (unrighteousness). Go forth safely, Jayadratha, with your horses, chariot, and foot-soldiers.' ॥ 3-256-23 ॥

एवम उक्तस तु सव्रीडं तूष्णीं किं चिद अवाङ्मुखः जगाम राजा दुःखार्तॊ गङ्गा दवाराय भारत ॥ ३-२५६-२४ ॥
'Thus addressed by Yudhishthira, the prince, O Bharata, overwhelmed with shame, bent his head in silence and sorrowfully made his way to the place where the Ganga descends onto the plains.' ॥ 3-256-24 ॥

स देवं शरणं गत्वा विरूपाक्षम उमापतिम तपॊ चचार विपुलं तस्य परीतॊ वृषध्वजः ॥ ३-२५६-२५ ॥
'Seeking the protection of the three-eyed god, the consort of Uma, Jayadratha performed severe penance at that very place. Pleased with his austerities, the great deity appeared before him in person and granted him a boon.' ॥ 3-256-25 ॥
