स देवं शरणं गत्वा विरूपाक्षम उमापतिम तपॊ चचार विपुलं तस्य परीतॊ वृषध्वजः ।। ३-२५६-२५ ।।

sanskrit

'Seeking the protection of the three-eyed god, the consort of Uma, Jayadratha performed severe penance at that very place. Pleased with his austerities, the great deity appeared before him in person and granted him a boon.' ।। 3-256-25 ।।

english translation

sa devaM zaraNaM gatvA virUpAkSama umApatima tapò cacAra vipulaM tasya parItò vRSadhvajaH || 3-256-25 ||
