स चापि भूमौ परिवर्तमानॊ; वधं सुतानां मम काङ्क्षमाणः सत्येन धर्मेण च वार्यमाणः; कालं परतीक्षत्य अधिकॊ रणे ऽनयैः ॥ ३-२२५-१६ ॥
'Superior in battle to all warriors, he now lies quietly on the ground, restrained by virtue and truth, burning with the desire to slay my children, yet waiting for the right moment.' ॥ 3-225-16 ॥

अजातशत्रौ तु जिते निकृत्या; दुःशासनॊ यत परुषाण्य अवॊचत तानि परविष्टानि वृकॊदराङ्गं; दहन्ति मर्माग्निर इवेन्धनानि ॥ ३-२२५-१७ ॥
'The cruel words spoken by Dushasana after Yudhishthira was deceitfully defeated at dice have sunk deep into Vrikodara's heart, and are consuming him, like a burning bundle of straw devouring a fagot of dry wood!' ॥ 3-225-17 ॥

न पापकं धयास्यति धर्मपुत्रॊ; धनंजयश चाप्य अनुवर्तते तम अरण्यवासेन विवर्धते तु; भीमस्य कॊपॊ ऽगनिर इवानलेन ॥ ३-२२५-१८ ॥
'The son of Dharma never acts sinfully; Dhananjaya also always obeys him. But Bhima's wrath, arising from their life of exile, increases like a conflagration driven by the wind!' ॥ 3-225-18 ॥

स तेन कॊपेन विदीर्यमाणः; करं करेणाभिनिपीड्य वीरः विनिःश्वसत्य उष्णम अतीव घॊरं; दहन्न इवेमान मम पुत्रपौत्रान ॥ ३-२२५-१९ ॥
'That hero, burning with such rage, clenches his fists and breathes hot, fierce sighs, as though with every breath he seeks to consume my sons and grandsons!' ॥ 3-225-19 ॥

गाण्डीवधन्वा च वृकॊदरश च; संरम्भिणाव अन्तककालकल्पौ न शेषयेतां युधि शत्रुसेनां; शरान किरन्ताव अशनिप्रकाशान ॥ ३-२२५-२० ॥
'The wielder of the Gandiva and Vrikodara, when enraged, are like Yama and Kala themselves; scattering their arrows, which resemble thunderbolts, they destroy the enemy ranks in battle.' ॥ 3-225-20 ॥
