[मार्क] यदाभिषिक्तॊ भगवान सेनापत्येन पावकिः तदा संप्रस्थितः शरीमान हृष्टॊ भद्र वटं हरः रथेनादित्यवर्णेन पार्वत्या सहितः परभुः ॥ ३-२२१-१ ॥

'Markandeya continued, "When the revered son of the Fire-god was anointed as the leader of the celestial army, the magnificent and joyful lord, Hara (Mahadeva), accompanied by Parvati, rode in a chariot radiating with the brilliance of the sun and proceeded to a place called Bhadravata."' ॥ 3-221-1 ॥

[mArka] yadAbhiSiktò bhagavAna senApatyena pAvakiH tadA saMprasthitaH zarImAna hRSTò bhadra vaTaM haraH rathenAdityavarNena pArvatyA sahitaH parabhuH ॥ 3-221-1 ॥

सहस्रं तस्य सिंहानां तस्मिन युक्तं रथॊत्तमे उत्पपात दिवं शुभ्रं कालेनाभिप्रचॊदितः ॥ ३-२२१-२ ॥

'His magnificent chariot, drawn by a thousand lions and guided by Kala, soared through the void, as if poised to devour the very sky.' ॥ 3-221-2 ॥

sahasraM tasya siMhAnAM tasmina yuktaM rathòttame utpapAta divaM zubhraM kAlenAbhipracòditaH ॥ 3-221-2 ॥

ते पिबन्त इवाकाशं तरासयन्तश चराचरान सिंहा नभस्य अगच्छन्त नदन्तश चारु केसराः ॥ ३-२२१-३ ॥

'Striking fear into the hearts of all beings in the moving realms of the world, these lions, their manes flowing, roared fearfully as they sped through the air.' ॥ 3-221-3 ॥

te pibanta ivAkAzaM tarAsayantaza carAcarAna siMhA nabhasya agacchanta nadantaza cAru kesarAH ॥ 3-221-3 ॥

तस्मिन रथे पशुपतिः सथितॊ भात्य उमया सह विद्युता सहितः सूर्यः सेन्द्रचापे घने यथा ॥ ३-२२१-४ ॥

'That lord of all animals (Mahadeva), seated in the chariot with Uma, appeared like the sun, its rays of lightning illuminating dense clouds encircled by Indra's bow (the rainbow).' ॥ 3-221-4 ॥

tasmina rathe pazupatiH sathitò bhAtya umayA saha vidyutA sahitaH sUryaH sendracApe ghane yathA ॥ 3-221-4 ॥

अग्रतस तस्य भगवान धनेशॊ गुह्यकैः सह आस्थाय रुचिरं याति पुष्पकं नरवाहनः ॥ ३-२२१-५ ॥

'He was preceded by the beloved Lord of riches, riding on human backs, with his attendants, the Guhyakas, in his beautiful Pushpaka chariot.' ॥ 3-221-5 ॥

agratasa tasya bhagavAna dhanezò guhyakaiH saha AsthAya ruciraM yAti puSpakaM naravAhanaH ॥ 3-221-5 ॥
