संपूज्यमानस तरिदशैस तथैव परमर्षिभिः समीपम उपसंप्राप्तः कार्त्तिकेयस्य वासवः ॥ ३-२१६-६ ॥
'Worshipped by the Tridasas and the great Rishis, Vasava, the lord of the celestials, approached near the abode of Kartikeya.' ॥ 3-216-6 ॥

saMpUjyamAnasa taridazaisa tathaiva paramarSibhiH samIpama upasaMprAptaH kArttikeyasya vAsavaH ॥ 3-216-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसिंहनादं ततश चक्रे देवेशः सहितः सुरैः गुहॊ ऽपि शब्दं तं शरुत्वा वयनदत सागरॊ यथा ॥ ३-२१६-७ ॥
'Upon reaching it, he shouted aloud, joined by the other gods. In response, Guha, too, let out a fearsome war-cry, which reverberated like the roaring of the sea.' ॥ 3-216-7 ॥

siMhanAdaM tataza cakre devezaH sahitaH suraiH guhò 'pi zabdaM taM zarutvA vayanadata sAgarò yathA ॥ 3-216-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्य शब्देन महता समुद्धूतॊदधि परभम बभ्राम तत्र तत्रैव देवसैन्यम अचेतनम ॥ ३-२१६-८ ॥
'With its tremendous sound, the ocean was greatly agitated, and the divine army became unconscious, whirling here and there.' ॥ 3-216-8 ॥

tasya zabdena mahatA samuddhUtòdadhi parabhama babhrAma tatra tatraiva devasainyama acetanama ॥ 3-216-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptजिघांसून उपसंप्राप्तान देवान दृष्ट्वा स पावकिः विससर्ज मुखात करुद्धः परवृद्धाः पावकार्चिषः ता देवसैन्यान्य अदहन वेष्टमानानि भूतले ॥ ३-२१६-९ ॥
'The son of Pavaka (the Fire god), seeing the gods advance with the intent to kill him, was filled with immense wrath and unleashed a rising flame of fire from his mouth. The flames spread with devastating force, destroying the celestial forces struggling on the ground.' ॥ 3-216-9 ॥

jighAMsUna upasaMprAptAna devAna dRSTvA sa pAvakiH visasarja mukhAta karuddhaH paravRddhAH pAvakArciSaH tA devasainyAnya adahana veSTamAnAni bhUtale ॥ 3-216-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptते परदीप्तशिरॊ देहाः परदीप्तायुध वाहनाः परच्युताः सहसा भान्ति चित्रास तारागणा इव ॥ ३-२१६-१० ॥
'Their heads, bodies, arms, and steeds were all consumed by the fiery onslaught. In an instant, they were reduced to nothing, appearing like stars that had been cast out of their proper orbits, lost and scattered in the vastness of the sky.' ॥ 3-216-10 ॥
