तवद अनुग्रह बुद्ध्या तु विप्रैतद दर्शितं मया वाक्यं च शृणु मे तात यत ते वक्ष्ये हितं दविज ।। ३-२०५-६ ।।

sanskrit

'O Brahmana, I have explained all this to you as a favor. Now, listen to my words, dear one, for I shall speak that which is beneficial to you.' ।। 3-205-6 ।।

english translation

tavada anugraha buddhyA tu vipraitada darzitaM mayA vAkyaM ca zRNu me tAta yata te vakSye hitaM davija || 3-205-6 ||

'O best among the twice-born, you have wronged both your mother and father. You left home without their permission, O blameless one, For the sake of Vedic recitation - what you did was improper.' ।। 3-205-7 ।।

tavayA vinikRtA mAtA pitA ca davijasattama anisRSTò 'si niSkrAntò gRhAta tAbhyAma anindita vedòccAraNa kAryArthama ayuktaM tata tavayA kRtama || 3-205-7 ||

'This action of thine is improper, for thy ascetic and aged parents, grieved by thy absence, have become blind with sorrow. Return home without delay, O Brahmana, to console thy parents. May this virtue never leave thee.' ।। 3-205-8 ।।

tava zòkena vRddhau tAva andhau jAtau tapasvinau tau parasAdayituM gaccha mA tavA dharmò 'tayagAna mahAna || 3-205-8 ||

'Thou art noble, of ascetic merit, and always devoted to thy religion, yet all these virtues have become futile without the fulfillment of thy duty to them. Go now, and restore comfort to thy parents.' ।। 3-205-9 ।।

tapasvI tavaM mahAtmA ca dharme ca nirataH sadA sarvama etada apArthaM te kaSipraM tau saMprasAdaya || 3-205-9 ||
