[मार्क] गुरू निवेद्य विप्राय तौ मातापितराव उभौ पुनर एव स धर्मात्मा वयाधॊ बराह्मणम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-२०५-१ ॥
'Markandeya continued, 'The virtuous fowler, having introduced both of his parents to the Brahmana as his highest gurus, spoke to him again as follows.'' ॥ 3-205-1 ॥
english translation
परवृत्त चक्षुर जातॊ ऽसमि संपश्य तपसॊ बलम यदर्थम उक्तॊ ऽसि तया गच्छस्व मिथिलाम इति ॥ ३-२०५-२ ॥
'I am born with the eye of enlightenment/wisdom - behold the power of tapas (spiritual austerity)! For this purpose you were told by her, 'Go to Mithila.'' ॥ 3-205-2 ॥
english translation
पतिशुश्रूष परया दान्तया सत्यशीलया मिथिलायां वसन वयाधः स ते धर्मान परवक्ष्यति ॥ ३-२०५-३ ॥
'One who is devoted to serving their spouse, self-controlled, and committed to truth, Living in Mithila, that hunter will explain the dharmas (duties/laws) to you.' ॥ 3-205-3 ॥
english translation
[बरा] पतिव्रतायाः सत्यायाः शीलाढ्याया यतव्रत संस्मृत्य वाक्यं धर्मज्ञ गुणवान असि मे मतः ॥ ३-२०५-४ ॥
'The Brahmana replied, "O pious man, so steadfast in fulfilling your religious duties, upon reflecting on the words of that truthful and virtuous lady, so devoted to her husband, I am convinced that you are truly endowed with all noble qualities."' ॥ 3-205-4 ॥
english translation
[वयध] यत तदा तवं दविजश्रेष्ठ तयॊक्तॊ मां परति परभॊ दृष्टम एतत तया सम्यग एकपत्न्या न संशयः ॥ ३-२०५-५ ॥
'The fowler replied, "I have no doubt, my lord, that what that lady, so faithful to her husband, told you about me was said with full knowledge of the facts."' ॥ 3-205-5 ॥
