अनाद्य अन्ता तु सा तृष्णा अन्तर देहगता नृणाम विनाशयति संभूता अयॊनिज इवानलः ।। ३-२-३६ ।।

'It has neither beginning nor end. Residing in the heart, it destroys beings like a fire of intangible origin.' ।। 3-2-36 ।।

'Like a piece of meat, which is in danger of being consumed by birds if it is in the air, by beasts if it is on the ground, or by fish if it is in water, a person of wealth faces dangers wherever they go.' ।। 3-2-39 ।।

yathA haya AmiSama AkAze pakSibhiH zavApadaira bhuvi bhakSyate salile matsyaisa tathA sarveNa vittavAna || 3-2-39 ||

अर्थ एव हि केषां चिद अनर्थॊ भविता नृणाम अर्थश्रेयसि चासक्तॊ न शरेयॊ विन्दते नरः तस्माद अर्थागमाः सर्वे मनॊ मॊहविवर्धनाः ।। ३-२-४० ।।

'For many, their wealth becomes a source of misfortune. Those who see happiness solely in wealth and become attached to it fail to understand true happiness. Thus, the accumulation of wealth is often seen as increasing both greed and folly.' ।। 3-2-40 ।।

artha eva hi keSAM cida anarthò bhavitA nRNAma arthazreyasi cAsaktò na zareyò vindate naraH tasmAda arthAgamAH sarve manò mòhavivardhanAH || 3-2-40 ||
