परिये नातिभृशं हृष्येद अप्रिये न च संज्वरेत न मुह्येद अर्थकृच्छ्रेषु न च धर्मं परित्यजेत ॥ ३-१९८-४१ ॥
'One should not excessively rejoice in good fortune or sorrow in misfortune. In times of poverty, one should not feel depressed, nor should one abandon the path of virtue when faced with hardship.' ॥ 3-198-41 ॥
english translation
कर्म चेत किं चिद अन्यत सयाद इतरन न समाचरेत यत कल्याणम अभिध्यायेत तत्रात्मानं नियॊजयेत ॥ ३-१९८-४२ ॥
'If at any time one commits a wrong, he should never repeat it. One should constantly inspire his soul to engage in actions that he deems beneficial.' ॥ 3-198-42 ॥
english translation
न पापं परति पापः सयात साधुर एव सदा भवेत आत्मनैव हतः पापॊ यः पापं कर्तुम इच्छति ॥ ३-१९८-४३ ॥
'One should never repay wrong with wrong, but should act honestly even toward those who have wronged him. The wretched soul who seeks to commit sin destroys himself.' ॥ 3-198-43 ॥

कर्म चैतद असाधूनां वृजिनानाम असाधुवत न धर्मॊ ऽसतीति मन्वानाः शुचीन अवहसन्ति ये अश्रद्दधाना धर्मस्य ते नश्यन्ति न संशयः ॥ ३-१९८-४४ ॥
'By engaging in sinful acts, one merely follows the path of the wicked. Those who disbelieve in virtue and mock the good and pure, saying 'There is no virtue,' undoubtedly meet with destruction. A sinful man swells up like a leather bag inflated with wind. The thoughts of such wretches, filled with pride and folly, are weak and unproductive.' ॥ 3-198-44 ॥

महादृतिर इवाध्मातः पापॊ भवति नित्यदा मूढानाम अवलिप्तानाम असारं भाषितं भवेत दर्शयत्य अन्तरात्मानं दिवा रूपम इवांशुमान ॥ ३-१९८-४५ ॥
'Like an inflated bag filled with air (showing false pride), The wicked person is always puffed up with arrogance. The speech of such foolish and proud people remains worthless. Just as the sun reveals its true form during the day, One's inner nature (true character) reveals itself.' ॥ 3-198-45 ॥
