[मार्क] चिन्तयित्वा तद आश्चर्यं सत्रिया परॊक्तम अशेषतः विनिन्दन स दविजॊ ऽऽतमानम आगः कृत इवाबभौ ॥ ३-१९८-१ ॥
'Markandeya said, 'Constantly reflecting on the remarkable words of the woman, Kausika began to reproach himself, appearing as though he were guilty.'' ॥ 3-198-1 ॥
english translation
[mArka] cintayitvA tada AzcaryaM satriyA paròktama azeSataH vinindana sa davijò ''tamAnama AgaH kRta ivAbabhau ॥ 3-198-1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचिन्तयानः स धर्मस्य सूक्ष्मां गतिम अथाब्रवीत शरद्दधानेन भाव्यं वै गच्छामि मिथिलाम अहम ॥ ३-१९८-२ ॥
'While meditating on the subtle ways of morality and virtue, he said to himself, 'I should accept with reverence what the lady has said and, therefore, proceed to Mithila.'' ॥ 3-198-2 ॥
english translation
cintayAnaH sa dharmasya sUkSmAM gatima athAbravIta zaraddadhAnena bhAvyaM vai gacchAmi mithilAma ahama ॥ 3-198-2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकृतात्मा धर्मवित तस्यां वयाधॊ निवसते किल तं गच्छाम्य अहम अद्यैव धर्मं परष्टुं तपॊधनम ॥ ३-१९८-३ ॥
'Without doubt, there dwells in that city a person of disciplined soul, fully versed in the mysteries of virtue and morality. This very day, I shall proceed to him, the one endowed with the wealth of asceticism, to inquire about righteousness.' ॥ 3-198-3 ॥

kRtAtmA dharmavita tasyAM vayAdhò nivasate kila taM gacchAmya ahama adyaiva dharmaM paraSTuM tapòdhanama ॥ 3-198-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति संचिन्त्य मनसा शरद्दधानः सत्रिया वचः बलाका परत्ययेनासौ धर्म्यैश च वचनैः शुभैः संप्रतस्थे स मिथिलां कौतूहलसमन्वितः ॥ ३-१९८-४ ॥
'His faith in her was confirmed by her knowledge of the death of the she-crane and the excellent words of virtuous import she had spoken. Thus, reflecting with reverence upon all she had said, Kausika set out for Mithila, filled with curiosity.' ॥ 3-198-4 ॥

iti saMcintya manasA zaraddadhAnaH satriyA vacaH balAkA paratyayenAsau dharmyaiza ca vacanaiH zubhaiH saMpratasthe sa mithilAM kautUhalasamanvitaH ॥ 3-198-4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअतिक्रामन्न अरण्यानि गरामांश च नगराणि च ततॊ जगाम मिथिलां जनकेन सुरक्षिताम ॥ ३-१९८-५ ॥
'He traversed many forests, villages, and towns, and at last, he reached Mithila, ruled by King Janaka.' ॥ 3-198-5 ॥
