[भग] परतिगृह्णे वरं वीराव ईप्सितश च वरॊ मम युवां हि वीर्यसंपन्नौ न वाम अस्ति समः पुमान ॥ ३-१९४-२१ ॥
'Thus addressed by them, the holy one replied, "O brave ones, I shall accept a boon from you, for there is one that I desire. Both of you are endowed with immense energy, and there is no man who matches your might."' ॥ 3-194-21 ॥
english translation
वध्यत्वम उपगच्छेतां मम सत्यपराक्रमौ एतद इच्छाम्य अहं कामं पराप्तुं लॊकहिताय वै ॥ ३-१९४-२२ ॥
'O you of unfailing prowess, I ask that you submit to be slain by me, for this is what I wish to accomplish for the welfare of the world.' ॥ 3-194-22 ॥
english translation
[म-क] अनृतं नॊक्तपूर्वं नौ सवैरेष्व अपि कुतॊ ऽनयथा सत्ये धर्मे च निरतौ विद्ध्य आवां पुरुषॊत्तम ॥ ३-१९४-२३ ॥
'Hearing these words of the Deity, both Madhu and Kaitabha replied, "We have never spoken a falsehood before, not even in jest; how then could it be in other circumstances! O foremost of all beings, know that we have always remained steadfast in truth and righteousness."' ॥ 3-194-23 ॥
english translation
बले रूपे च वीर्ये च शमे च न समॊ ऽसति नौ धर्मे तपसि दाने च शीलसत्त्वदमेषु च ॥ ३-१९४-२४ ॥
'In strength, in form, in beauty, in virtue, in asceticism, in charity, in conduct, in goodness, and in self-control, there is no one equal to either of us.' ॥ 3-194-24 ॥
english translation
उपप्लवॊ महान अस्मान उपावर्तत केशव उक्तं परतिकुरुष्व तवं कालॊ हि दुरतिक्रमः ॥ ३-१९४-२५ ॥
'A great danger, O Kesava, has now approached us. Therefore, fulfill what you have promised. No one can prevail over Time.' ॥ 3-194-25 ॥
