विस्मयः सुमहान आसीन मधुकैटभयॊस तदा दृष्ट्वा पितामहं चैव पद्मे पद्मनिभेक्षणम ॥ ३-१९४-१६ ॥
'Some time later, two mighty Danavas named Madhu and Kaitabha beheld Hari in that posture, along with the Grandsire, whose eyes resembled lotus petals, seated on the lotus.' ॥ 3-194-16 ॥
english translation
वित्रासयेताम अथ तौ बरह्माणम अमितौजसम वित्रस्यमानॊ बहुशॊ बरह्मा ताभ्यां महायशः अकम्पयत पद्मनालं ततॊ ऽबुध्यत केशवः ॥ ३-१९४-१७ ॥
'Upon seeing this, Madhu and Kaitabha roamed about, causing great fear and alarm to Brahma, who was immeasurably powerful. And the illustrious Brahma, alarmed by their persistent efforts, trembled on his seat. As he trembled, the stalk of the lotus on which he was seated also began to shake, and when the lotus-stalk trembled, Kesava awoke.' ॥ 3-194-17 ॥

अथापश्यत गॊविन्दॊ दानवौ वीर्तवत्तरौ दृष्ट्वा ताव अब्रवीद देवः सवागतं वां महाबलौ ददानि वां वरं शरेष्ठं परीतिर हि मम जायते ॥ ३-१९४-१८ ॥
'Awakened from his slumber, Govinda beheld the two Danavas of mighty energy. Upon seeing them, the Deity said, 'Welcome, O mighty ones! I am pleased with you. Therefore, I shall grant you excellent boons!'' ॥ 3-194-18 ॥

तौ परहस्य हृषीकेशं महावीर्यौ महासुरौ परत्यब्रूतां महाराज सहितौ मधुसूदनम ॥ ३-१९४-१९ ॥
'And thereupon, both those proud and mighty Danavas, O King, laughingly replied to Hrishikesa, saying .' ॥ 3-194-19 ॥
english translation
आवां वरय देव तवं वरदौ सवः सुरॊत्तम दातारौ सवॊ वरं तुभ्यं तद बरवीह्य अविचारयन ॥ ३-१९४-२० ॥
'Ask boons of us, O Divine One! O thou who art the Supreme Deity, we are ready to grant you a boon. Indeed, we shall grant you a boon! Therefore, ask of us anything that comes to your mind.' ॥ 3-194-20 ॥
