न तदा बराह्मणः कश चित सवधर्मम उपजीवति कषत्रिया अपि वैश्याश च विकर्मस्था नराधिप ॥ ३-१८६-३१ ॥
'This, O tiger among men, is the state of the world during the twilight of the Kali Yuga, O Bharata! At that time, not a single Brahmana adheres to the duties of his order. Even the Kshatriyas and Vaishyas, O monarch, follow practices contrary to those proper for their own orders.' ॥ 3-186-31 ॥

अल्पायुषः सवल्प बला अल्पतेजः पराक्रमाः अल्पदेहाल्प साराश च तथा सत्याल्प भाषिणः ॥ ३-१८६-३२ ॥
'And men become short-lived, weak in strength, energy, and prowess; endowed with feeble might and frail bodies, they speak scarcely any truth.' ॥ 3-186-32 ॥

बहु शून्या जनपदा मृगव्यालावृता दिशः युगान्ते समनुप्राप्ते वृथा च बरह्मचारिणः भॊगादिनस तथा शूद्रा बराह्मणाश चार्यवादिनः ॥ ३-१८६-३३ ॥
'The human population dwindles across vast regions, and the lands—North, South, East, and West—become overrun by animals and beasts of prey. During this time, even those who utter the sacred syllable 'Brahma' do so in vain.' ॥ 3-186-33 ॥

युगान्ते मनुजव्याघ्रभवन्ति बहु जन्तवः न तथा घराणयुक्ताश च सर्वगन्धा विशां पते रसाश च मनुजव्याघ्रन तथा सवादु यॊगिनः ॥ ३-१८६-३४ ॥
'And, O tiger among men, at the end of the Yuga, animals increase vastly. Moreover, O king, scents and perfumes no longer delight our sense of smell, and, O tiger among men, the very tastes of things fail to please our sense of taste as they did in other ages!' ॥ 3-186-34 ॥

बहु परजा हरस्वदेहाः शीलाचार विवर्जिताः मुखे भगाः सत्रियॊ राजन भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥ ३-१८६-३५ ॥
'And, O king, in that age, women will give birth to numerous offspring, but will be of low stature, devoid of good conduct and proper manners. Their speech will be corrupted, serving purposes other than those of virtue.' ॥ 3-186-35 ॥
