तम अर्चितं सुविष्वस्तम आसीनम ऋषिसत्तमम बराह्मणानां पतेनाह पाण्डवानां च केशवः ।। ३-१८०-४१ ।।

'When the venerable sage, who had lived for many thousands of years, arrived, all the Brahmins, along with Krishna and the sons of Pandu, paid their respects to him. After being honored in this manner, the wise sage took his seat in a friendly manner.' ।। 3-180-41 ।।

english translation

tama arcitaM suviSvastama AsInama RSisattamama barAhmaNAnAM patenAha pANDavAnAM ca kezavaH || 3-180-41 ||

शुश्रूषवः पाण्डवास ते बराह्मणाश च समागताः दरौपदी सत्यभामा च तथाहं परमं वचः ।। ३-१८०-४२ ।।

'The Pandavas, along with the Brahmins who had gathered, and Draupadi, along with Satyabhama, were eager to listen, and I too, speaking the utmost words, addressed the sage!' ।। 3-180-42 ।।

english translation

zuzrUSavaH pANDavAsa te barAhmaNAza ca samAgatAH daraupadI satyabhAmA ca tathAhaM paramaM vacaH || 3-180-42 ||

पुरावृत्ताः कथाः पुण्याः सद आचाराः सनातनाः राज्ञां सत्रीणाम ऋषीणां च मार्कण्डेय विचक्ष्व नः ।। ३-१८०-४३ ।।

'The sons of Pandu, the assembled Brahmins, the daughter of Drupada, Satyabhama, and myself are all eager to hear your most excellent words, O Markandeya!' ।। 3-180-43 ।।

purAvRttAH kathAH puNyAH sada AcArAH sanAtanAH rAjJAM satrINAma RSINAM ca mArkaNDeya vicakSva naH || 3-180-43 ||

तेषु तत्रॊपविष्टेषु देवर्षिर अपि नारदः आजगाम विशुद्धात्मा पाण्डवान अवलॊककः ।। ३-१८०-४४ ।।

'Vaisampayana continued, "When everyone had taken their seats, the divine sage Narada, a being of purified soul, arrived to visit the sons of Pandu."' ।। 3-180-44 ।।

teSu tatròpaviSTeSu devarSira api nAradaH AjagAma vizuddhAtmA pANDavAna avalòkakaH || 3-180-44 ||

तम अप्य अथ महात्मानं सर्वे तु पुरुषर्षभाः पाद्यार्घ्याभ्यां यथान्यायम उपतस्थुर मनीषिणम ।। ३-१८०-४५ ।।

'The foremost of the wise men, with great respect, honored him in the proper manner, offering water to wash his feet and the well-known oblation called Arghya.' ।। 3-180-45 ।।
