तवार्थ सिद्ध्यर्थम अभिप्रवृत्तौ; यथैव कृष्णः सह यादवैस तैः तथैव चावां नरदेव वर्य; यमौ च वीरौ कृतिनौ परयॊगे तवदर्थयॊगप्रभव परधानाः; समं करिष्याम परान समेत्य ॥ ३-१७३-१६ ॥
'Arjuna is unparalleled in strength, and so am I, O best of kings. Just as Krishna, along with the Yadavas, is devoted to your welfare, so too am I, O foremost of monarchs, along with the heroic twins, skilled in battle. With our main goal being your attainment of wealth and prosperity, we shall vanquish the enemy.' ॥ 3-173-16 ॥

ततस तद आज्ञाय मतं महात्मा; तेषां स धर्मस्य सुतॊ वरिष्ठः परदक्षिणं वैश्रवणाधिवासं; चकार धर्मार्थविद उत्तमौजः ॥ ३-१७३-१७ ॥
'Having understood their intention, the magnanimous and virtuous son of Dharma, skilled in both righteousness and prosperity, and of immeasurable strength, circumambulated the abode of Vaisravana.' ॥ 3-173-17 ॥

आमन्त्र्य वेश्मानि नदीः सरांसि; सर्वाणि रक्षांसि च धर्मराजः यथागतं मार्गम अवेक्षमाणः; पुनर गिरिं चैव निरीक्षमाणः ॥ ३-१७३-१८ ॥
'And Yudhishthira, the just, after bidding farewell to the palaces, rivers, lakes, and all the Rakshasas, turned his gaze towards the path by which he had arrived.' ॥ 3-173-18 ॥

समाप्तकर्मा सहितः सुहृद्भिर; जित्वा सपत्नां परतिलभ्य राज्यम शैलेन्द्र भूयस तपसे धृतात्मा; दरष्टा तवास्मीति मतिं चकार ॥ ३-१७३-१९ ॥
'Having completed his tasks, together with friends, Having conquered enemies and regained the kingdom, The self-controlled one decided in his mind, 'I shall see you again at the king of mountains for penance.' ॥ 3-173-19 ॥

वृतः स सर्वैर अनुजैर दविजैश च; तेनैव मार्गेण पतिः कुरूणाम उवाह चैनां सगणांस तथैव; घटॊत्कचः पर्वतनिर्झरेषु ॥ ३-१७३-२० ॥
'This, too, he resolved upon. Accompanied by his younger brothers and the Brahmanas, the lord of the Kurus proceeded along that same path. Ghatotkacha, with his followers, began to help them cross the mountain cascades.' ॥ 3-173-20 ॥
