कृकॊदरस्यापि ववन्द पादौ; माद्री सुताभ्याम अभिवादितश च समेत्य कृष्णां परिसान्त्व्य चैनां; परह्वॊ ऽभवद भरातुर उपह्वरे सः ॥ ३-१६१-२१ ॥

'He also paid homage to Vrikodara's feet, and the twins bowed down to him as well. Afterward, he went to Krishna, comforted her, and then stood before his elder brother in a humble manner.' ॥ 3-161-21 ॥

english translation

kRkòdarasyApi vavanda pAdau; mAdrI sutAbhyAma abhivAditaza ca sametya kRSNAM parisAntvya cainAM; parahvò 'bhavada bharAtura upahvare saH ॥ 3-161-21 ॥

बभूव तेषां परमः परहर्षस; तेनाप्रमेयेण समागतानाम स चापि तान परेक्ष्य किरीटमाली; ननन्द राजानम अभिप्रशंसन ॥ ३-१६१-२२ ॥

'Upon meeting that unparalleled one, they were filled with immense joy. He, in turn, rejoiced greatly upon seeing them and began to praise the king with fervor.' ॥ 3-161-22 ॥

यम आस्थितः सप्त जघान पूगान; दितेः सुतानां नमुचेर निहन्ता तम इन्द्र वाहं समुपेत्य पार्थाः; परदक्षिणं चक्रुर अदीनसत्त्वाः ॥ ३-१६१-२३ ॥

'Upon seeing before them the chariot in which the slayer of Namuchi had destroyed seven divisions of Diti's offspring, the noble Parthas circumambulated it.' ॥ 3-161-23 ॥

yama AsthitaH sapta jaghAna pUgAna; diteH sutAnAM namucera nihantA tama indra vAhaM samupetya pArthAH; paradakSiNaM cakrura adInasattvAH ॥ 3-161-23 ॥

ते मालतेश चक्रुर अतीव हृष्टाः; सत्कारम अग्र्यं सुरराजतुल्यम सर्वं यथावच च दिवौकसस तान; पप्रच्छुर एनं कुरुराजपुत्राः ॥ ३-१६१-२४ ॥

'Overjoyed, they offered reverent worship to Matali, as though to the very lord of the celestials. Then the son of the Kuru king, in due course, asked Matali about the well-being of all the gods.' ॥ 3-161-24 ॥

तान अप्य असौ मातलिर अभ्यनन्दत; पितेव पुत्रान अनुशिष्य चैनान ययौ रथेनाप्रतिम परभेण; पुनः सकाशं तरिदिवेश्वरस्य ॥ ३-१६१-२५ ॥

'Matali, in turn, greeted them warmly. After imparting instructions to the Parthas, as a father would to his sons, he mounted that unparalleled chariot and returned to the lord of the celestials.' ॥ 3-161-25 ॥
