तथा तु तं चिन्तयतां सिताश्वम; अस्त्रार्थिनं वासवम अभ्युपेतम मासॊ ऽथ कृच्छ्रेण तदा वयतीतस; तस्मिन नगे भारत भारतानाम ॥ ३-१६१-१६ ॥
'O Bharata, in this way, on that mountain, those descendants of Bharata spent a month with great difficulty, constantly thinking of him, the one with the white steed, who had gone to the abode of Vasava to learn the art of arms. During this time, in that mountain, the Bharatas were immersed in deep thoughts.' ॥ 3-161-16 ॥

ततः कदाचिद धरि संप्रयुक्तं; महेन्द्र वाहं सहसॊपयातम विद्युत्प्रभं परेक्ष्य महारथानां; हर्षॊ ऽरजुनं चिन्तयतां बभूव ॥ ३-१६१-१७ ॥
'Then suddenly, they saw Arjuna's divine chariot, yoked with horses, coming swiftly, radiant like lightning, resembling Indra's vehicle. Joy arose in the hearts of the great warriors who were thinking of Arjuna.' ॥ 3-161-17 ॥

स दीप्यमानः सहसान्तरिक्षं; परकाशयन मातलिसंगृहीतः बभौ महॊल्केव घनान्तरस्था; शिखेव चाग्नेर जवलिता विधूमा ॥ ३-१६१-१८ ॥
'Driven by Matali, that blazing chariot suddenly illuminated the sky, resembling smokeless tongues of fire or a mighty meteor enveloped in clouds.' ॥ 3-161-18 ॥

तम आस्थितः संददृशे किरीटी; सरग्वी वराण्य आभरणानि बिभ्रत धनंजयॊ वर्ज धरप्रभावः; शरिया जवलन पर्वतम आजगाम ॥ ३-१६१-१९ ॥
'Seated in that chariot, Kiriti appeared adorned with garlands and newly made ornaments. Then, Dhananjaya, endowed with the power of the wielder of the thunderbolt, descended upon that mountain, radiant with beauty.' ॥ 3-161-19 ॥

स शैलम आसाद्य किरीटमाली; महेन्द्र वाहाद अवरुह्य तस्मात धौम्यस्य पादाव अभिवाद्य पूर्वम; अजातशत्रॊस तदनन्तरं च ॥ ३-१६१-२० ॥
'The diadem-wearer (Arjuna), having reached the mountain, descended from that Indra-like chariot, and first paid homage at the feet of Dhaumya, and then to Ajatashatru (Yudhishthira).' ॥ 3-161-20 ॥
