गते तु तस्मिन वरदेव वाहे; शक्रात्मजः सर्वरिपुप्रमाथी शक्रेण दत्तानि ददौ महात्मा; महाधनान्य उत्तमरूपवन्ति दिवाकराभाणि विभूषणानि; परीतः परियायै सुत सॊममात्रे ।। ३-१६१-२६ ।।

sanskrit

'When Matali had departed, that foremost of the royal lineage, the son of Sakra, the high-souled destroyer of all foes, entrusted to his beloved, the mother of Sutasoma, beautiful and precious gems and ornaments, radiant like the sun, which had been bestowed upon him by Sakra.' ।। 3-161-26 ।।

english translation

gate tu tasmina varadeva vAhe; zakrAtmajaH sarvaripupramAthI zakreNa dattAni dadau mahAtmA; mahAdhanAnya uttamarUpavanti divAkarAbhANi vibhUSaNAni; parItaH pariyAyai suta sòmamAtre || 3-161-26 ||

hk transliteration

ततः स तेषां कुरुपुंगवानां; तेषां च सूर्याग्निसमप्रभाणाम विप्रर्षभाणाम उपविश्य मध्ये; सर्वं यथावत कथयां बभूव ।। ३-१६१-२७ ।।

sanskrit

'Then, seated in the midst of those illustrious Kurus and the foremost of the Brahmanas, who were radiant like fire or the sun, he began to recount everything as it had truly occurred.' ।। 3-161-27 ।।

english translation

tataH sa teSAM kurupuMgavAnAM; teSAM ca sUryAgnisamaprabhANAma viprarSabhANAma upavizya madhye; sarvaM yathAvata kathayAM babhUva || 3-161-27 ||

hk transliteration

एवं मयास्त्राण्य उपशिक्षितानि; शक्राच च वाताच च शिवाच च साक्षात तथैव शीलेन समाधिना च; परीताः सुरा मे सहिताः सहेन्द्राः ।। ३-१६१-२८ ।।

sanskrit

'In this way, I have been taught the use of weapons by Sakra, Vayu, and the manifest Shiva. Due to my virtuous conduct and unwavering concentration, all the celestials, including Indra, have been pleased with me.' ।। 3-161-28 ।।

english translation

evaM mayAstrANya upazikSitAni; zakrAca ca vAtAca ca zivAca ca sAkSAta tathaiva zIlena samAdhinA ca; parItAH surA me sahitAH sahendrAH || 3-161-28 ||

hk transliteration

संक्षेपतॊ वै स विशुद्धकर्मा; तेभ्यः समाख्याय दिवि परवेशम माद्री सुताभ्यां सहितः किरीटी; सुष्वाप ताम आवसतिं परतीतः ।। ३-१६१-२९ ।।

sanskrit

'Briefly then, he of pure deeds (Arjuna), having told them about his entry into heaven, together with Madri's sons, the diadem-wearer (Kiriti) slept contentedly in that dwelling.' ।। 3-161-29 ।।

saMkSepatò vai sa vizuddhakarmA; tebhyaH samAkhyAya divi paravezama mAdrI sutAbhyAM sahitaH kirITI; suSvApa tAma AvasatiM paratItaH || 3-161-29 ||
