[वै] तस्मिन नगेन्द्रे वसतां तु तेषां; महात्मनां सद वरतम आस्थितानाम रतिः परमॊदश च बभूव तेषाम; आकाङ्क्षतां दर्शनम अर्जुनस्य ॥ ३-१६१-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, "Residing in that greatest of mountains, those high-souled beings, who were dedicated to their noble vows, were filled with longing and joy, eagerly awaiting the sight of Arjuna."' ॥ 3-161-1 ॥
english translation
तान वीर्ययुक्तान सुविशुद्धसत्त्वांस; तेजस्विनः सत्यघृति परधानान संप्रीयमाणा बहवॊ ऽभिजग्मुर; गन्धर्वसंघाश च महर्षयश च ॥ ३-१६१-२ ॥
'Multitudes of Gandharvas and Maharshis, filled with joy, gladly visited those powerful beings, endowed with prowess, pure desires, and being the foremost among those established in truth and fortitude.' ॥ 3-161-2 ॥
english translation
तं पादपैः पुष्पधरैर उपेतं; नगॊत्तमं पराप्य महारथानाम मनःप्रसादः परमॊ बभूव; यथा दिवं पराप्य मरुद्गणानाम ॥ ३-१६१-३ ॥
'Having arrived at that excellent mountain, adorned with trees bearing blossoms, the mighty charioteers were filled with immense joy, just as the Marutas are upon reaching the celestial realms.' ॥ 3-161-3 ॥
english translation
मयूरहंसस्वननादितानि; पुष्पॊपकीर्णानि महाचलस्य शृङ्गाणि सानूनि च पश्यमाना; गिरेः परं हर्षम अवाप्य तस्थुः ॥ ३-१६१-४ ॥
'Filled with immense joy, they lived there, gazing upon the slopes and summits of the mighty mountain, adorned with flowers and echoing with the calls of peacocks and swans.' ॥ 3-161-4 ॥

साक्षात कुबेरेण कृताश च तस्मिन; नगॊत्तमे संवृतकूलरॊधसः कादम्ब कारण्डवहंसजुष्टाः; पद्माकुलाः पुष्करिणीर अपश्यन ॥ ३-१६१-५ ॥
'On that splendid mountain, they beheld lakes filled with lotuses, their shores lined with trees, and frequented by cranes, Karandavas, and swans.' ॥ 3-161-5 ॥
