भरातॄंस तान हरियतॊ दृष्ट्वा दरौपदीं च महाबलः करॊधम आहारयद भीमॊ राक्षसं चेदम अब्रवीत ।। ३-१५४-३१ ।।

'Seeing the Pandavas being carried off and Draupadi as well, the mighty Bhima, filled with wrath, addressed the Rakshasa in anger:' ।। 3-154-31 ।।

bharAtRRMsa tAna hariyatò dRSTvA daraupadIM ca mahAbalaH karòdhama AhArayada bhImò rAkSasaM cedama abravIta || 3-154-31 ||

विज्ञातॊ ऽसि मया पूर्वं चेष्टञ शस्त्रपरीक्षणे आस्था तु तवयि मे नास्ति यतॊ ऽसि न हतस तदा बरह्मरूपप्रतिच्छन्नॊ न नॊ वदसि चाप्रियम ।। ३-१५४-३२ ।।

'I had previously discovered thy wickedness through thy examination of our weapons. However, as I had no fear of thee, I refrained from slaying thee then. Thou wert disguised as a Brahmana, and didst not speak harshly to us. Instead, thou tookest pleasure in pleasing us.' ।। 3-154-32 ।।

vijJAtò 'si mayA pUrvaM ceSTaJa zastraparIkSaNe AsthA tu tavayi me nAsti yatò 'si na hatasa tadA barahmarUpapraticchannò na nò vadasi cApriyama || 3-154-32 ||

परियेषु चरमाणं तवां न चैवाप्रिय कारिणम अतिथिं बरह्मरूपं च कथं हन्याम अनागसम राक्षसं मन्यमानॊ ऽपि यॊ हन्यान नरकं वरजेत ।। ३-१५४-३३ ।।

'Thou hast done us no wrong, and moreover, thou hast been our guest. How could I, therefore, slay thee, who art innocent of any offence and disguised as a Brahmana? He who, knowing such a one to be a Rakshasa, kills him, surely descends to hell.' ।। 3-154-33 ।।

pariyeSu caramANaM tavAM na caivApriya kAriNama atithiM barahmarUpaM ca kathaM hanyAma anAgasama rAkSasaM manyamAnò 'pi yò hanyAna narakaM varajeta || 3-154-33 ||

अपक्वस्य च कालेन वधस तव न विद्यते नूनम अद्यासि संपक्वॊ यथा ते मतिर ईदृशी दत्ता कृष्णापहरणे कालेनाद्भुत कर्मणा ।। ३-१५४-३४ ।।

'Moreover, thou canst not be slain before thy appointed time. Indeed, today thy time has come, for Fate, with its wondrous workings, has led thee to attempt the abduction of Krishna. In committing thyself to this act, thou hast taken the bait of Destiny itself.' ।। 3-154-34 ।।

apakvasya ca kAlena vadhasa tava na vidyate nUnama adyAsi saMpakvò yathA te matira IdRzI dattA kRSNApaharaNe kAlenAdbhuta karmaNA || 3-154-34 ||

बडिशॊ ऽयं तवया गरस्तः कालसूत्रेण लम्बितः मत्स्यॊ ऽमभसीव सयूतास्यः कथं मे ऽदय गमिष्यसि ।। ३-१५४-३५ ।।

'Just as a fish in water, caught by the hook in its mouth, cannot escape, so too, O Rakshasa, thou shalt not reach the place thou hast intended, nor the place thou hast already set thy mind on.' ।। 3-154-35 ।।

baDizò 'yaM tavayA garastaH kAlasUtreNa lambitaH matsyò 'mabhasIva sayUtAsyaH kathaM me 'daya gamiSyasi || 3-154-35 ||
