तरयी वार्ता दण्डनीतिस तिस्रॊ विद्या विजानताम ताभिः सम्यक परयुक्ताभिर लॊकयात्रा विधीयते ॥ ३-१४९-३१ ॥
'By the three sciences of diplomacy/statecraft, when perfectly employed, the journey of the world/society is guided/regulated.' ॥ 3-149-31 ॥
english translation
tarayI vArtA daNDanItisa tisrò vidyA vijAnatAma tAbhiH samyaka parayuktAbhira lòkayAtrA vidhIyate ॥ 3-149-31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसा चेद धर्मक्रिया न सयात तरयीधर्मम ऋते भुवि दण्डनीतिम ऋते चापि निर्मर्यादम इदं भवेत ॥ ३-१४९-३२ ॥
'When these callings are properly followed, the world is easily sustained. However, if people do not live righteously, the world becomes lawless due to the absence of Vedic merit and proper governance.' ॥ 3-149-32 ॥

sA ceda dharmakriyA na sayAta tarayIdharmama Rte bhuvi daNDanItima Rte cApi nirmaryAdama idaM bhaveta ॥ 3-149-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवार्ता धर्मे हय अवर्तन्त्यॊ विनश्येयुर इमाः परजाः सुप्रवृत्तैर तरिभिर हय एतैर धर्मैः सूयन्ति वै परजाः ॥ ३-१४९-३३ ॥
'If people fail to follow their prescribed vocations, they perish. However, by faithfully adhering to the three professions, they uphold righteousness. The religion of the Brahmanas is rooted in the knowledge of the soul, and the nature of their order is universally consistent.' ॥ 3-149-33 ॥

vArtA dharme haya avartantyò vinazyeyura imAH parajAH supravRttaira taribhira haya etaira dharmaiH sUyanti vai parajAH ॥ 3-149-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदविजानाम अमृतं धर्मॊ हय एकश चैवैक वर्णिकः यज्ञाध्ययन दानानि तरयः साधारणाः समृताः ॥ ३-१४९-३४ ॥
'The performance of sacrifices, the study of the Vedas, and the giving of gifts are universally acknowledged as the three common duties.' ॥ 3-149-34 ॥

davijAnAma amRtaM dharmò haya ekaza caivaika varNikaH yajJAdhyayana dAnAni tarayaH sAdhAraNAH samRtAH ॥ 3-149-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयाजनाध्यापने चॊभे बराह्मणानां परतिग्रहः पालनं कषत्रियाणां वै वैश्य धर्मश च पॊषणम ॥ ३-१४९-३५ ॥
'The Brahmana’s duties are officiating at sacrifices, teaching, and accepting gifts. The Kshatriya’s duty is to rule the people, while the Vaisya is tasked with tending cattle.' ॥ 3-149-35 ॥

yAjanAdhyApane còbhe barAhmaNAnAM paratigrahaH pAlanaM kaSatriyANAM vai vaizya dharmaza ca pòSaNama ॥ 3-149-35 ॥
